Emersyn has a love for dance and music speaks to her soul. However, when she was 11, Emersyn had to undergo a spinal fusion due to scoliosis, which meant stepping away from dance. You would never know this though as it did not dampen her vibrant spirit and she still pursues moving to the beat through show choir at Prairie High School. We started out her senior session in the studio surrounded by all of her favorite records and record player. I love that these are coming back and she was so proud to show off her amazing collection. She’s a girl after my own heart being a fan of those bands! 

After we wrapped up at the studio, we went on a little road trip out and ended up in Vinton. The hot and humid weather didn’t stop Emersyn from having a blast along the river walk and while hanging out by an old brick building we found. She was a total natural in front of the camera and she was not shy about posing even while traffic was going by! I loved all of the outfits she chose because they really complimented her indie vibes and the soft colors were beautiful on her especially with the various backgrounds.

Once we realized the brick building we had been hanging out by was condemned (ha, whoops! But we were safe!), we decided to head out to Bloomsbury Farms in Atkins because she really wanted photos with a field of flowers. And Bloomsbury delivered us a beautiful field full of the most amazing sunflowers and zinnias! We were chasing the sunset and got there at prime golden hour. When I say she was glowing, she really was and mom was bursting with pride. One of my favorite parts of senior sessions is seeing the proud parents behind the scenes because I know these sessions are just as important to them and they have so much to be proud of! We squeezed every ounce out of the sunset that we could before officially wrapping up the session and it was so worth it. This session was so fun from start to finish, with a sentimental ode to her grandfather who recently passed away, and I'm excited to share a few of my favorites.
